To delete your Instagram account, you need to log into instagram.com from a computer. You can’t delete your account from within the Instagram app. Here are the steps to follow
- Click your profile picture in the top right and click Profile, then click Edit Profile.
- Scroll down, then click Temporarily disable my account in the bottom right.
- Select an option from the drop-down menu next to Why are you disabling your account? and re-enter your password.
- Click Temporarily Disable Account.
If you want to permanently delete your account, you need to visit this link: https://instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/permanent. Select a reason from the list, re-enter your password, then click Delete. It takes a month for the deletion to be permanent.
